standard S4 alternator on the left, genuine CS/SE alternator on the right
Grrr, I still need to find a ventilation cowl and a sealing ring for mine!
Please note the production date, months before the official release of the CS.
Also, this kind of alternator was only used on cars without AC, and I doubt any production car was delivered without!
I am after any pictures you guys have of the 2 fuel and 2 breather pipes where they run along the floor for an S4 and which pipe is which, the ones on at the moment have all been bodged, I will be fitting new pipes just need to know how they are routed in relation to each other
cheers
Phil
^^^ An alternative solution. One thing I like about this is the ability to cover the hole with a finger while I'm pouring in oil. Love reading your thread on breathing btw.
Your filler neck looks very clean. Did you thread it in or epoxy it?
For smaller ports, threading or epoxying the ports in would've been an option for us as well. But we wanted 2x 0.75" ports.
Angling the ports will allow one to pour oil into the filler neck just like with a stock engine.
Out in the middle of nowhere, TX... not a C&C, show, or anything, just both of us out and running around on a beautiful Saturday morning.
This would have been a rare sight 30 yrs ago...when they were still in production...
To have them both randomly together in the wild after they've both been out of production for a quarter century is something I had to take a few pics...cool to see both flagships side by side
