Customer customized his Pentera mesh wheels Gloss Black lips and Matte Black centers with a small polished accent on the outer edge... not a bad look eh?
These wheels are guaranteed to have less issues over 3-pc wheels, we also run a refinishing business and we have more business from 3-pc wheels leaking over single piece wheels in addition the barreling used on three piece wheels seems to be a little more fragile when compared to a LPC, Flow Forged wheel or Forged.
Take for example a set of wheels as these, BRAND NEW they are moderately priced at $1599/set 4 right out of the box. If you have an accident and need a while like this or any other wheel of this price line you're out maybe $400-500 with shipping and flipping a tire. BRAND NEW WHEEL.
A set of 3-pc. wheels BRAND NEW might run you $1,000-1,300 each. so you're around $4,000-5,200 from the start.
Right from a pricing stand-point some people would rather spend the $1599 on wheels and use the $3,000 for Go-Fast mods or simply keep the money for Jr's college account but whatever....
My first set of wheels was a set of 3-pc. HRE's on my 996, they were nice but they kept bending and cracking. Don't get me wrong, they were beautiful wheels however even though they were only 19" they seemed impractical for normal use.
To each their own, but I think it's important to chime in so that others don't feel like they MUST spend $4,000+ on a set of wheels. Here is the current set I run on the 996 I still own and the retail with custom brush finishing is on the upper end due to the added $800 in finishing cost but without that cost they would be $2099 on this set, still a comfortable range since a replacement would only be around $600 retail if I damaged a wheel beyond simple repair.
