Default Escort Radar

Hi all, been looking into getting a radar detector since the car is here and the winter will be done soon. Was wondering if anyone has the new escort max 360, my brother has an escort and he really likes it, so he recommended this one as it is their newest one. I've also seen a lot of people use Valentine and he switched out his valentine one for an escort any recommendations on which I should go for?

I have read a lot of bad reviews about the 360. I bought a Uniden LRD950, which is cheaper and reaching almost cult status. But you need to consider if laser is being used in your area or not. It is in mine, so I don't use it. No protection in that situation. I also keep it sane on the streets, and prefer enjoying driving my car to focusing on the detector.

If it makes sense for you, look at the Uniden instead of Max 360. JMHO.

P.S. But finding them will be hard. I am not sure Uniden even makes them anymore. I mentioned selling mine on rdforum and had 9 PM's the first day. I still have it (a month old), so if you decide to go that route I can give you a RL buddy discount.

I live in the great state of VA with horrible speeding laws so I put the escort 9500ci with the laser jammers in all my cars cause I need mine to be undetectable. The only handheld one I've used is the the redline(also undetectable) which was pretty good.

Redline gets good reviews too. And stealth.

Thanks bud, I'll look into the uniden, as well as look into the reviews of the Max 360.I don't go too crazy when it comes to speeding but I definitely think I have a higher chance of getting pulled over for going 85 in this thing compared to the Altima I drive on the daily so just want to make sure I'm not getting pulled over.

The passport 9500ci might be a little too much for me, but I will look into the redline thanks!

Lol just realized the redline is the one my brother has

Anytime. BTW, Happy B-Day! I think back to the days when I was 23. A GT3 would have spelled trouble for me! If I can give you one piece of advice, it is this...

A slow moving GT3 on the street is a hell of a lot sexier than one speeding.

I couldn't understand that when I was your age. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Thanks Rob! I used to be a speed demon when I first got my license doing reckless stuff, but these past couple of years I've taken it easy as I'd rather be safe than sorry. Have heard too many stories recently of excessive speeding going wrong so try to take it easy. But occasionally do like to let it loose but I really only do it on the highway and that's if there aren't any cars near me, there's too much in life to lose it all from speeding. Next step is to get some professional lessons so I can track the beast! And let it rip in safe environment!

I wish I was that smart @23! Professional coaching. I thought I knew it all when I was 23. Take it to the track and spend money on coaching and tires. You will learn to tame this beast. Have fun!

Great attitude. DE and track are your best options. It only takes one mistake on the street, and you are done.

I'm still liking my Max with Blendmount, but will probably give the 360 a try soon.

Good luck tonight with your Villanova team. Should be a great game, they're playing well.

Thanks I wouldn't say smart, more like well informed thanks to RL and this community it's very easy to learn about how to actually push the car to the limits while being on a safe environment!
