I think 48 might have been the older designation.

The problem is an H6 battery wont fit. They've added too much case height.

It came time to replace the battery in my 89 C4, and I've run into a problem.
All of the group 48 batteries I try don't fit.

They are too tall, the top of the battery is hitting the hydraulic...

Its ridiculously easy to bounce off the rev limiter in 1st gear.

How are the keys coded to be #1 and #2?
Do they come from the factory that way, or can you open them up and change them, or set it at the car somehow?
