Bad connections aren't the same as stuck magnets, they must be tapped back down. Your gentle wiggling would not have started the ca if it had not been for a different problem. :)

It's either the timing sensor or the crank...

It's either the timing sensor or the crank sensor. Both are located on top of the bellhousing just behind the engine. Take a long metal object and tap on the top of them with a little bit of force....

Not sure what all the trimmings would be, but there are sachs clutches with "extras" (rings, etc) for $380 on ebay.

Did you list a new one or used one?

It's one of the two sensors on the top of the bellhousing at the rear of the motor. One is a crank sensor. take a long metal pole and tap tap tap tap the top of both sensors to knock the magnets back...

Going down the road..... nothing. Complete loss of pull.

That's the kind of thinking that'll get you 6 months of downtime. The magnets in the sensors can hang inside the sleeve and not slide back down as the flywheel rotates. It can spark as the wheel goes...

My thoughts exactly. I mentioned the sensors ages ago and pinned the problem on them, now I'd like to see them replaced and see what the car does.
