I've never noticed the charging voltage going up when braking, but the lower charge voltage in non-sport mode for maximum MPG kind of makes sense when every .1 MPG matters.

If you wait to do the air filters at 40k they will probably be plugged up. I did mine at 16k and could have waited a while longer, but it's really easy to pull the bumper cover to get at the filters.
