Lights left on buzzer?

Should my UK RHD 1990 C2 Targa have a buzzer which sounds if lights are left on when ignition turned off/keys removed?

What is the suggested order in which to check what to make a diagnosis?

My local garage has changed the relay but its not that. He is not a Porsche specialist.

Does anyone have a list of possible problems he can check for?

Drilling holes in air box?!

To improve 'noise', drilling holes in air box was 'de rigeur' (sp?) when I owned my last 964 10 years ago.

You guys still doing this? I remember it made a brilliant difference when accelerating...

Mines a Targa so if I replace shocks I'll bear that in mind. Would I be mad not to put new shocks on? As springs plus labour are a freeby I'm tempted to leave shocks as I would not do this right now...

Why should one change the oil every year if minimal mileage done? Does it go off? Is there a sell by date on the can like milk? Why not change it every 18 months or 2 years?? I don't understand!

The PO had top-end rebuild done 1000 miles before I bought it and then (I think) he overfilled on oil change the day before I bought it by about 1 litre.

Could this be related?

Oil pressure gauge faulty?

Under load my 993RS gauge always reads highest number ie 5. On 964 under load it reads either 4 or 5, it doesn't wander between it is either one or other. Why is this? Problem?

It was the battery....not holding charge....new...

It was the battery....not holding charge....new one fitted.....so rapid clicking may not be solenoid/starter motor problem.

So good news as I'd assumed the worst ie new starter motor!
