JMO but in that price range I think you could look at some 1985.5 and newer ones. There were a lot of improvements over the 84's.

Spare DME Core (Free)

I have a spare DME for my 944 1985.5 that can be used as a core if anyone needs it. The only history I have on it is that it may have got a little wet so I wouldn't trust it for anything but a core....

My 1985.5 944 project car runs great good oil pressure, temps, gauges work etc. but has a strange issue. Because of no fuel pump or spark issue I bypassed the DME relay to test. Everything works...
