Its an AMP 925499. On the 1983 it is a 14 pin connector (there are 3 of them on the early clusters). The connectors are also found on period VWs and Audi's.

I am working through gauge issues and have found some potential concerns in pins inside the AMP 925499 14 pin connectors that mate to the cluster itself.

Ok went back and watched the rebuild video and the original spring was conical and a new wavy spring was used in the rebuild, so that is my plan.

Thanks all - finally got the fronts out last night. There is not a lot of room to wiggle the assembly out - even with the lower CA completely removed. I ended up having to make slight adjustments...
