The increase was there on the '86. So, sounds like it is doing what it should.

I also drove an '87 Turbo, chipped, and the boost was dramatic. It was a serious kick. It also had LSD and the had a...

951, Question on Turbo Feel

I recently drove an '86 Turbo, not chipped, and the boost came on, the gauge rose to 1.5 to 2.0, but little to no turbo whine and the kick in the pants was not dramatic, it was a smooth power...

Cooling System

I have found that I must use at Coolant Pressure Tester to pressurize the system and remove all air before the system works properly. This includes cycling the heater core, etc.

100% agree. I replaced my mounts with Porsche factory mounts and the car felt like it was new after the new mounts. They are pricey and it hurts the wallet but you will be satisfied with the...

A previous owner (PO) has but side molding on the rocker panels. It is likely that they screwed in the molding. The 944 is treated at the factory and the entire body is "dipped" in a solution that...

I'd have the rocker panels checked out carefully. The body molding is likely caused rust on the panels.

Agree on the nostalgia battle. I'd love to have a 911 but at a reasonable price. They are not reasonable today.

Oh yeah, I paid $6k for my 944 with 52k miles on the P-car. An 83 911 of similar miles and condition would have cost me, what? $50+ grand right now. So, I think the 911 is outstanding, but, the...

Yes, I would trade my 944 for a good 83 911 also. They are great cars. But, the 944 is not a junker. I think many folks slam the 944 because it does require routine maintenance every 30k or so. I...

And, if you look at the problems or potential issues with the car, the 944 fairs better. All the 944 issues, save one, is related to not doing the maintenance. The exception is the rear window...

Thomasmryan,

I agree that timing belt changes are "made too much a do about nothing" in my opinion. My 944 has no oil leaks and the timing belt change went smoothly. Frankly, the belt gives the car...

944 to 968

All,

I'm thinking about moving from an 83 944 to a 968. The allure of more HP (143 to 236 hp is significant) without a turbo is enticing. The S2 is also a consideration (but not 236 hp)as this...

I like the fuchs on the 968. Looks good. The original wheels are nice but I think the fuchs rims keep the Porsche race DNA look happening.
