Ha ha several years ago I too found four loose throttle body bolts. Repair Manual procedure is far simpler, basically pressurize (8 psi?) and listen for hissing. No smoke is needed in my experience....

I have the Rennline perforated pedals, a garbage product that should not exist. Perhaps the rubber nubs work better, but apparently those periodically fall out, making that also unacceptable IMHO.

You can get over 400 hp with a bolt-on turbo kit but the total cost will be $30k (but more if a shop does the work). Been there, done that, got the receipts to prove it. I highly recommend against it...

If it's just pads, you may need a couple new rotors too. But I don't know what else could cause a warning light plus reduced braking performance. I guess it's conceivable to have just one pad failure.
