Mine has, it was a factory short throw (appx 20%) shifter and although still a little snug going into 1st, in 2800 miles has loosened up considerably. I like it very well.

You don't need the clutch, hand brake or foot brake engaged to operate. It will operate at up to 30 mph. What does the dash read?

I don't know as I only started last week looking so you may be right. Anyway, I like these Cont's very well, they have great grip in snow and ride very well.
