That spacer was used on the kit for aluminum...

That spacer was used on the kit for aluminum control arm cars...basically 1985.5 and later. The earlier cars that had steel arms didn't use the spacer.

You can always paint the hat of whatever brand you get with high temp paint. We've some aftermarket rotors that are black oxide coated but that will wear off where the pad contacts it in short order....
