Quick update. Water pump, thermostat and pulley replaced. I noticed squeaking noise from the new water pump. :( It comes and goes. Looks like I may have to do this all over again... ugh.

On our 2008 CS, the stainless steel came off years ago. I just keep it in the garage now. There were no tabs or any such thing for it to hold on to the bumper. No glue residue either.
