My guide says just pull it out...! But how? Itĺs stuck firm in there. Would heat help?

Id check that the idle microswitch makes contact - you can hear it click if you gently press it.
I had a very similar event with mine - but then I had been playing around with the throttle cable...

Im really interested in this clutch pedal issue too - mine does the same. New clutch, bled etc.
Mine doesnt always pop back right up though. It disengages, but doesnt come all the way to end of...

The way I did it, was to leave the 996 part alone and change the 964 part in the wiring loom where the new part connects. Then had to make the 996 part fit into the metal bracket where it is...
