I believe that rod with the bent end is used in the lower section of the seat at the rear. I can check tomorrow if you need to confirm. I believe the kink is up.

Yes both can be welded and we have welded both, on the block we have put back mounting points etc. Also we have welded the cylinder towers on the exterior circumference due to corrosion....
