Increased fin count will decrease air flow to the radiator so water temp is likely to get worse. But 3" is not mega thick so you might be ok.

I don't really see how middle shaft twist would cause issues with a TC setup. It must be something with how the Motec algorithm is created.
In essense TC should work only by comparing wheel speeds...
