Agreed. I think the Solo 2 DL with a SCHD is the best bang for the buck at an entry level. Easy to setup, runs automatically, and a huge user base to learn from and compare against.

I think the official (and correct) answer would be no. The petroleum base of the oils could damage the harnesses. Plus, if it doesn't all come out, the oil will end up on your suit.

Deleting the track on your device and then using the track from the database in RS3 should fix it. You can check the track in RS3 to see if it has any splits and remove them if they are there.
