PPI In edmonton!

Can someone reccommend a good place in Edmonton for a PPI on a 993? I phoned Norden and they state they typically do not do leak downs or compression tests. They said they could do a compression test but they would charge me 5.5hrs totalling $780 plus tax. That seems a little rediculous or am I out to lunch?

Call Eurasia, 780 439 6666, they are MUCH more familiar with the older Porsches than the dealership.

Thanks for the reply. I did contact them and they quoted me the same amount to do the leakdown and compression test. I'm getting seriously frustrated as the shops here in calgary charge $389 for the full inspection and leakdown/compression test!

Try Ed at http://www.elegantmotors.ca/

He's been working on Porsches for years, and has his own air cooled turbo Porsche

I've been very happy with Eurasia as well.

Would they let you take it to Calgary? That does seem like a big difference... Make an offer pending an acceptable PPI if you otherwise like the car?

More details on the car too :)

I've had no (good) luck with Norden. I've been treated with poor service and a generally argumentative attitude. Maybe my car is a decade or two too old. Their fees seem out of line, as well. Eurasia has some good customer service - Chad's great - but the two times I've been there, they buggered something up, simple dumbass things, too. Perhaps this Elegant Motors will be a bit or a ray of sunshine if I need it.

Derek, who are you using in Calgary? Alpine? Riegel? Someone else? Anyway, if you're coming up, drop a line. Good Luck.
