Default Plastic headlight refinish in MTL

Other than a DIY kit, anyone know of an experienced detailer/paint shop that does this with good results?

Looking for a high quality job, including UV sealant.

Cheers

Matt

...on second thought, try the Canadian Tire grade 3M kit, that you hook up to a drill! Then give me a call!

A few years back Consumer Reports really liked this kit from Sylvania.

The super cheap way to quickly remove the haze is just to take some light solvent with a microfiber rag and lightly clean the lenses. I prefer my porter cable with a medium compound after wetsanding then spray it with PPG 5540/9000 clear

I have tried the 3M professional kit, the CanTire 3M kit and a liquid 3M compound for paint.
Best results are with the 3M professional kit, but take your time.
Second best results were with the liquid 3M compound surprisingly.
The CanTire stuff is meh...
This is an easy DIY, but if the items are valuable.... Call Dwane

Yup #1 & 2... did not have the small pads but used my Porter cable 7424, the small pads and polisher would have done a better job. Right tool = great results.

Stan, Did you have the 3 grades of sandpaper? I use the 800,1500 and finish with 3000 grit.
You have 2 tools in the kit, an orbital sander and rotary polisher.

DA(porter cable) doesn't polish with enough RPM's, you need a rotary polisher to cut/correct properly after sanding.

I have entered apparently entered the dark world of detailing expertise. We'll need to talk.

Dwane, only used the 1500 grit and agree the DA is not the best tool for the job, but it did make a huge improvement on my Folksvagens, surely not as good as using the entire kit, but hey, I had 4 daily drivers to do and one afternoon.

Definitely, not on par with the entire kit and a professional behind the polishers.

Got a classic or cherished Porsche and don't want compromises?
Get a pro to do it... a lot cheaper than buying the Pro kit for one car
