Default DE options for non-Pcar owners

Have a few buddies that I am trying to get into the hobby. Was wondering if other clubs (BMW? Audi?) will let you drive non-marque car at one of their LCMT DE's?

Thanks in advance for any tips and advice on how these events are run. Looking for safe, and good instruction for newbies.

Best,

Matt

audi is about the same, you can also run with the viper club, with Jim Russell, Vag Motorsport also has a nice lapping club.

But to get quality instructors if not in the PCA, you need to go with BMW.

I run with all these groups and rarely run with rennsport because my friends have other brands of cars but to start, i'd say the BMW club is the best for a non-Porsche guy.

This is a good summary. My first track day was the summer of 2001, it was at Tremblant but with the Ferrari Club of America. The instructor core for the event were BMW Certified instructors. They were fantastic and I stuck with them until the end of 2003 season when I decided to try a PCA event in Tremblant. I thought the BMW Instructors were good but the PCA ones were just amazing. I switched over to the PCA side added a Porsche to the garage and have never looked back.

EnTrack Experience tracks days at Calabogie Motorsport Park are a great way to start. The instructors are excellent and many have experience with PCA and BMWCC.

Thanks Gents - will definitely looking into BMWCC. Calabogie is also a good option, if a fair bit farther from MTL. I think LCMT, in terms of layout, is probably less confusing for a first-timer. BTW - did an Entrack event with one of the fellows I am looking to help out.

Cheers!

As a bonus , I think the BMW DE ( driving schools ) are still tax deductible!

What's good for the goose is good for the gander...

How does PCA go about getting the same deal?

I'm going back a few years so check with Henry Wong or Norm Miller.
Had to do with their being registered as a "driving school" as I remember.

I spoke with someone yesterday who had taken advantage of this. It is accredited as a driving school. He got a tax credit for his DE costs. Bonus!

I feel this would also help with the "am I insured at the track" question. I am sure we would be insured no questions asked at a "driving school"
