Default Looking for a public racetrack near Ottawa

I just picked up my 996 and I really want to test the car on a course. I am aware of the Calabogie and Tremblant courses, but both seem to require a membership. Is anyone aware of any track that is open to the public? I just want to rip around on a nice weekend and see what the car is capable of.

Thanks,
Dave

I don't think he has. I might have to go by his place at night, steal his car, take cool pics, and then put it back before the morning.

Dave, are you aware of Shannonville? It's about half an hour west of Kingston. Not exactly around the corner from you, but not as far as Mosport. Last time I checked they had pay-per-lap days once a week or so.

Calabogie has lapping days check their website. Don't expect to be let loose unless you have proper credentials though.

Calabogie Lapping Days.
Next Tuesday & Wed are open to the public. As Bob said, there are some rules so don't expect to be let loose without a little bit of hand holding to ensure you are reasonably competent.

If you want to learn to drive well I would suggest you join the Porsche Club of America, Rennsport Region.

www.rennsport.ca

Rules are stricter but you will be a faster, safer driver because of it. The membership chair is an especially good guy who would be happy for you to join.

Who told you that?
Tell that person that they should not speak about things they have no clue about and it later makes them look extremely stupid.

www.calabogiemotorsports.com can tell you a lot more than your idiot friend.
