Nicolas Grenon recently turned 27. Ever since he was 10, all Nick ever wanted to do was work alongside his dad Rick, helping restore cars of the rarest breed in their family shop of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, west of Montreal. Over the years, many of their cars, mostly full classics and high-end Italian, have made it to Pebble Beach, where they have a standing invitation. Few can claim this much. Their virtual home ( drivingthebest.com ) says it best.
For the longest time, Nick has also been a Porsche aficionado. So much so that, a couple of years ago, he decided under dad's watchful eye to tackle his first complete Porsche restoration, from soup to nuts (and bolts, as it were). The subject was a 1968 Porsche 911L Coupe Sportomatic, arguably a rare bird since only 400 such Sportomatics were produced that year, one which closed off the model's short wheel-base.Boundless passion, mixed with relentless patience, have now produced a stunning concours-level beauty, for which no expense was spared and every detail was kept original, both inside and out. Pretty cool achievement for a twenty-seven year old.
