PATINA / 911R - The grandfather of all racing Porsches
Hi Guys, last week we launched PATINA, an automotive YouTube channel. Our second video on the channel features both generations of the legendary Porsche 911R. So have a look and subscribe to the channel (http://bit.ly/subscribe-PATINA) if you'd like to see more from u in the future.
Would love to know how you guys liked the video and what Porsche (or other) story you'd want us to tell next. -Gunter https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...6f2dc00a91.png |
Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing a very wonderful 911R video. I learned I few things on this video as the original 1967 911R are so rare they are very hard to see in person (although there was one at PEC in Atlanta that was on display last year) and learned such as; 1.) The rear trunk opened all the way back resting on the rear windshield. 2.) The door hinges were made out of straps. The new ones have similar (polyester and nylon material). 3.) The rear quarter window had air vents. 4.) The windows opened manually with leather straps.
The 1967 911R truly a classic car. Back then in 1967 the cynicism that they will not be able to sell 500 cars, thus making only 20 cars was ironic. In 2016 they made 991 copies and all were all sold out day one from the announcement. What PORSCHE does best is to improve on their products that is why our PORSCHE GT cars are very desirable since they were made to be durable. What an outstanding model and car manufacturer it is. Please keep up posting videos such as these where viewers learn things that are not obvious or readily available. Drive safe, GT3RS-Fan1
