Default Hey New to this Porsche thing

Hi, and a hello from Whitebeak: just purchased a 2011 Cayenne diesel sand white, for our dog and LOVE it
So comfortable, way fast enough for me and handles fabulously in the 20mph zones where I live
First long run was to London last week and we were cruising at 47mpg there and 32mpg on way back (wife drives faster than me). Well pleased with that.
It has the VW 3.0 V6 turbo diesel, presumably tweaked by Porsche and I have not been able to find much technical stuff from Porsche about this engine yet.
So here is some fabulous technical stuff from VW. Note thatI am new to this so do shoot me down if it's not the correct engine:

Hello. Had my Cayman R for a few months now. I have to say that general tinkering or modifying cars does not seem to be very active in UK. Is this due to the high level of warranty cover? Coming from a Lotus background where it is unusual for owners to keep their cars standard, this seems strange.

Default Moving back home after 10 years in US

Just found this forum

lived in US for 10 years but moving home later this year to Cambridge/Suffolk border area

bringing my 997.2 C2S with me

now that I've found this uk forum, here's some questions I have:

1) what the best UK Porsche club - assume PCGB?

2) I'm a Porsche Club of America track instructor in US and plan to do some track days when get back to the UK (probably in a caterham). Before I left 10 years ago, Book-a-Track were just taking off ----- who would you recommend nowadays for porsche / non-porsche track days? How much we looking' at nowadays? any discounts for instructors?

3) Any specialist porsche insurance companies you would recommend / stay away from?

4) Is window tinting allowed in UK?

5) Im planning on using shipmycar.co.uk to transport porsche, tow vehicle and trailer back to use and then get road legs/mot etc ---- any body used these guys?

All advice appreciated … and I'll repost these questions as separate post

Cheers
Steve

Default Jay - Sheffield - 930 Turbo F.A.S.T. TEST Project

Hi

I'm Jay, from Sheffield, England.

I'm leading a restoration/Stroke awareness project using my mates 'barn find' 930 as a mobile vessel which will carry FAST test and sponsors logos for a whole year once it's rebuilt.

Porsche Centre Sheffield are supporting the project and have offered some great prizes to be raffled off throughout the campaign.

Please take a look at my website for more info:

and

www.facebook.com/fast911turbo

FAST signs may look like this in UK campaign.
Facial weakness?
Arm weakness?
Speech difficulty?
Time.. to call 999!

USA Fast test only differs with the emergency number being 911 :-)

Hi Steve,

Did you get the car over?

Plenty track days with PCGB, but TIPEC get you a better insurance deal.

Window tinting is measured in light levels in the front 3 windows and you're only allowed a small tint.

Lee.
