Pair of 7" x16" teledials( not required now)
Hi all
just to update this thread.
I took the car in to have the tracking checked and it was found to be 36mm out of true ???? I can only assume previous owner must have replaced the track rod ends and not had the front wheels aligned .
Anyway the 16x8" teledials now fit perfectly with adequate clearance on the front of my 79auto
I'm looking for a pair of 7" x16" teledials in good condition (with or without tyres) to fit on the front of my 79 928. The offset will therefore need to be something between ET55 and ET65
I have a pair of 16x8" teledials I might be willing to trade or sell. I'd be interested in single rims too,Thanks

No they meant 36mm ! amazing eh. 36minutes is half a degree which is a negligable amount you coudn't see. This was a truly gross amount that caused severe rubbing of the tyres on the wishbone arms at full lock. Unbelievably I managed to drive it 200 miles home without accident although it did feel very strange I have to say. Any other car would probably have been undrivable.

36mm of toe would have destroyed the tyres in a few miles; I would have thought you would be able to hear them squeal.
Was the rack offset by 36mm (track rod too short on one side and too long on the other) so that you had too much lock in one direction causing clearance problems and not enough lock in the other?
