Malicious ad on rennlist
A pop-up ad on the 996 forum saying "Two people have recently unfriended you" has a link that produces one of those false virus alerts that want you to call a fictitious Microsoft number to purchase a program to get rid of it. The only way to get out of it is to use Task Manager.
