996 driveshaft to 915
Hello all,
I am building an improbable hybrid (bastardisation) car. It's a 1974 Skoda 130RS replica with a Mazda rotary engine mated to a Porsche 915 gearbox. I am using a complete 996 rear suspension setup. The 996 driveshaft inner CV flanges are bigger than the flanges on the 915 gearbox and i need to join them somehow.
I think it very unlikely but can anyone tell me of a set of 996 gearbox flanges can be adapted/are available for a 915 box? The way I see it, my only other options are to with get some discs with the correct 996 PCD made up and welded to my 915 output flanges or to get some 915 driveshafts and cut and sleeve to join to the outer part of my 996 driveshafts.
My final question is does anyone know the difference in effective distance between the outer faces of the gearbox flanges between the 915 and the G50 or whatever gearbox goes into a 996
