Why am I receiving phishing emails from RL? As a paying member I do not appreciate this, I would like an explanation from the RL management.

Here's what I received:

Looks like you subscribed to the Random Picture Thread so the system is emailing you automatically whenever a new post is added to it. It's only doing what you instucted it to do.

VIPRE is a bit sensitive.

It's not a phishing scam.

If you don't know why that is a false positive, you shouldn't be accusing Rennlist of phishing. You should be learning what phishing is.

Randy, I receive about 25-50 RL emails per day I've never had one removed by my VIPRE internet security program as a phishing email until now.

It's easy for you to make someone look like a fool and cover your tracks, and accuse me of a conspiracy, but the facts are facts regardless. This could be an isolated case or an error on RLs part, but to be attacked in force from RL and it's patrons that are not admin nor management is unethical. I suggest further investigation by RL rather than easily dismiss it as a failed attempt at a conspiracy plot. I'm NOT conspiring to bring down RL, however, I do care about my privacy as all RLs do and I do not appreciate RL emails with 'phishing' components attached, I'm simply basing this on the VIPRE alert and the accompanying data received below.

I'm not looking for retribution nor am I condemning anyone I simply want answers from management in the form of a pm, if they wish, after the facts have been reviewed.

In FACT - the RANDOM PICTURE THREAD pulls images from HOW MANY THIRD PARTY IMAGE SITES? You think all those image are on "Rennlist"?

Dear gawd... Again - your "VIPRE internet security program" is broken- as it PULLS AN EMBEDDED IMAGE FROM ANOTHER SITE - not Rennlist.

Thanks John, you are the only one that has made any sense out of this, I agree that it must have come from a third party site. I wish I could accept everyone's rationalization of attacking me, we are all supposed to be supportive of each other and analytical rather than 'kill first ask questions later' mentality.

My inquiry was not accusatory in nature nor do I wish any harm to RL or it's members, I'm still in shock though of all the negative responses, it's a shame.

I looked at your note and the attachment (which was in your e-mail handler (which was was what your post link pointed me to..)

Anyway - it was a really long day on my end, so I apologize if my posts above didn't really explain all that - which they didn't..

Thanks Mike for posting this up - and yep - I've always taken "phishing" schemes on Rennlist as an attack, but - this wasn't one, I guess..?
