Btw what post # are we up to and no Mod or IB rep?

That would mean depending on the seller which would be unreliable. Not to mention, if your actually serious about spending 20-400k on a car, you will likely read the 2 page thread for info.

I'm on the 356 Registry as well. Anything for sale there is straight up. 30-50 cars as WTB and For Sale at any given time. They're ads, not postings and it's one of the most thorough boards you'll ever go on. You can check it out without a login for the most part. The difference is that it's not on autopilot like this place is. Think of the revenue generated through memberships and ads here, and no one is in control? no one knows enough about Porsches to effectively run the site like it used to be run? WTF already...

agree this guy was a major offender...wonder if he can read or just too busy trying to buy cars to flip he did not take the time to read the ad.

The professional flipper is ruining the true enthusiast sites like RL and Pelican. Can't wait for them to find another marque to stalk.

After reading through a bunch of posts on the 993 board about value and appreciation it has become evident that the majority of the air cooled cars will be increasing in value. This, just as classics (50's and 60's American cars) steadily decrease in value. The flipper is here to stay. Cabs, Targas and Tips are the next to rapidly become collectible...

Mods, Please figure out a way to mark cars sold in the Classified section, especially in the Vehicles classifieds. There are tons of old ads that are replied to by relative unknowns here on RL with either no or an extremely low post count. Most appear to be replying to multiple ads one after the other and sound like dealers (not registered as sponsors) and flippers. It's more of an annoyance than anything else but it has gotten progressively worse since the purchase and the deployment of autopilot by IB. Many other forums require a minimum post count or other such credential to post a for sale ad (used to have to be a member here to do so). Back me up here guys. You know this pisses you off too...
Thanks!

I'm a stickler for this topic as well...however, I have tried to update my titles w/ "SOLD" via the edit function and they don't take. Only the body of the message updates...am I doing something wrong? Hate to be one of the a-holes that doesn't 'get it'. Mike.

How about defaulting the authorized "on sale thread" into a green font, and once it is "sold" and or obsolete, the font is programmed to change into a red font. This function coding may prevent any "unauthorized" ads to be posted on Rennlist. A red flag green flag approach. Maybe easier said than done... but just an idea to help you out.

Maybe a total rethink is in order.
I see many merits to the approach used by Pelican in how they manage their classified sections. Only the seller can post and it avoids many useless posting by others and having old ads resurrected. The thread is managed by the seller and updated by the seller and closed by the seller. And monitored by the moderators.
