It strikes me that it's not very useful to have a peer rating system, and then allow those who have a score they don't like to 'opt out' and have that rating not displayed.
Keep in mind, I don't think the member ratings are the be-all and end-all of the board, but when the only visible ratings are the 4/5 stars, and the people racking up the 1s are hiding them, the value of doing any rating at all becomes very small.
