Unfortunately that isn't our server (unless it is a database error).
We have noticed that certain areas of the country are effected by network lags at interchanging stations (and something that is for the most part entirely out of our control). Our servers are located in Los Angeles, and if between Los Angeles there is a a routing point that bottlenecks the speed it will affect it (its not necessarily based on distance).
I don't have the capacity to load this page from Oklahoma as we don't have a service provider there that we have an agreement with, but I chose a couple of locations that are reasonably close (and some that aren't so close) so you can see the differences in page load time.
Montreal, Canada - Peer 20.594
San Diego, CA - AT&T 4.734
Los Angeles, CA - Verizon 6.407
Kansas City, MO - Global Crossing 14.875
Dallas, TX - Verizon 32.125
These results are extremely abnormally high, as I loaded this very page utilizing the system, and someone has a 1.8Mb animated gif in their sig
I think I can count the times on one hand when it takes a normal user on a normal page over 4s in Los Angeles (unless it is filled with a large file such as the gif I mentioned) or anywhere else on the west coast for that matter.

When it is hosted this way it makes use of some nifty agressive caching software (which isn't in place when you host photos on rennlist.org) that should dramatically improve the browsing experience of your fellow rennlisters when browsing a thread you participate in.
I hope your browsing experience improves as well. That said - I would still strongly advise reducing the size of the pic. A poor gentleman who can only get dialup in rural Vermont may take around 9 minutes to load a page with your signature on it

1. Add the feedback to the user names..like when you PM someone.
2. Leave the group buys the way they are.
3. Could we maybe.....just maybe....decide on where the classifieds will be? We have classified section...a member to member forum for selling...then each forum has sub-forums for selling. Can we pick just one?
Please....don't add another forum.

Trading feedback can go nowhere but hyper negative, and then the purpose of education will be out the window within a few pages.
Group buys might work within model categories, but I don't share any parts with 928, 993, or Boxster owners, so .......
Probably the most valuable change would be to make each thread respond via email inbox (automatically subscribe) that you post in. That would increase the traffic exponentially.

This is one of the best sorted out forums on the internet AS IT IS. I would hesitate to make changes to the way things are presently working. As others have suggested, don't change it if it isn't broken. Unless there have been a rash of complaints about these items I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm afraid that would end up being like the handicaped parking and fire lanes in in Florida...
Used all to often by the emotionally disabled "it's all about me" crowd.
I agree with not adding, but even dropping the classifieds off the kiddie page's,
and putting them back where they were. One general classified add forum - at entry.
Folks letting others know they were selling something and the old familier "BUMP" was working just fine in the individual kiddie pages.
The new ones get cluttered and there is no way to drop the old ad - now we are stuck with the Mickey Dee's "over 2.5 billion sold"
I'll take the pyrat rum pie, please...
BTW No problems with the forum load speed at all lately, even at sea! Thanks!

Group buys work fine within the Technical Forums, imo. I think there could be a cross model group buy facilitated by a dedicated forum, but I don't think there's much pent up there.
Not a fan of the concept of a feedback forum. Just don't think there is a need.
Cherry please.
Thanks,
Dan
