Default Feedback on the new classifieds

Bear with us as I work through and implement all of it, but in the mean time, give us your thoughts

http://forums.rennlist.com/marketplace/

Just to clarify, all rennlist members have the ability to post ads.
All users (this is members and regular users) have the ability to view/comment/complete transactions.

On edit: I forgot to add, we are unfortunately unable to bring across the existing classified postings.
Our intentions are that we will be running both systems concurrently, and we will eventually disable the uploading of new ads to the old system, and once all those ads are expired, disable the system entirely.

Looking good.

I really think we need a vendor section that is only available to paid members for the Rennlist vendors to offer specials and group buys.

Also maybe a paid member only section of the classifieds. Might be just a few categories.

Implementing transaction feedback wouldn't be bad either.

Just tried to submit an ad - spent some time doing it all right and thoroughly, and got this error message: Error creating resized original! Error code: 127
It totally blew out all my input.

Can do - although I think that would work better as a sperate forum

All these sections are only for paid members (as in, only paid members can load up ads )

Should be fixed, sorry about that.

this is just asking for trouble, the way it has been for years worked so why mess with it?

now if anyone can list stuff for sale its just going to cause more fraud.

I don't like this at all. bad idea honestly.

We changed it based on a poll that I put in the off topic forum - people had raised issues that the exisiting classifieds don't get enough traffic.

Only members can list ads:

Any chance of getting a 'Canadian' section for the for sale section? I think some of the guys expressed some interest in that.

Something up with the buy it now option when it takes you to paypal with my test ad. I'll create another to verify I did not make a typo. I think this will work great for both buying and selling.

It will get more traffic than the FS forum, likely.

Can I request the ability to collapse the subforums (like you can on the main pages)? If I want to go in there, I'll open it up, otherwise, it and the ads take up far too much space on the top of my screen.

I bet people thought cars or spacehips weren't necessary when riding a bike and flying in low orbit worked just fine.

I'm glad some people don't think leaving well enough alone is enough.

I forgot why I came in here in the first place...

I think all the subforum links on the first page is really distracting. I think one link to all the classifieds would be alot cleaner...or group the classified subforums somewhere.

There's a link at the top of the 928 forum - 928 Parts Classifieds.

I click on it and see a bunch of stuff totally unrelated to 928.

Home » Parts and Wheels » 924/931/944/951/968

Needs work.

I can't seem to find the "buy it now" option - where exactly are you looking for that?
Sorry!

I have done that for everyone, unfortunately we can't do it on an individual basis.

People had complained that the old classifieds "were dead"
