Never noticed, but now that you mentioned it it's about 11 minutes behind mine.

Rennlist time is defined by the server clock. Your computer clock is defined by your computer. Much the same way your alarm clock may be a few minutes off from the microwave clock which different from the stove clock....

There is no other time than Rennlist time. You must adjust all your other clocks as they are obviously wrong.

PS -

it's 2201 right now

So, nyah.

[the reason this makes a difference is when you have people who are in time out, they will pick the most generous clock in order to get out of the time out]

Me too. Several years ago I put a UPS on a VCR, just because I hated resetting it.

NTP client isn't that hard to set up on a server.

I work at a data center that rents servers, if this server is in a virtualized environment under openvz or virtuozzo then John D cannot set the clock. However if it's a dedicated box or running under Xen or something, then what's the excuse?

I have people calling me all day crying and complaining when their server gets out of sync by 10-20 seconds.

I checked and my clock was synchronized just a few minutes prior but apparently my brain wasn't, because I didn't take into account the 2 minutes it took me to notice. Yes 11 minutes is correct.

All times are GMT -3. The time now is 03:51 AM.
