Default Search function: how to do an AND search?

I know that using quotes around multiple words in the SEARCH field results in an OR search but how do I get and AND search?

Basic question, I know but didn't want to e-mail John over this.

I just add add a +next item after the primary search. Like "wastegate +Tial 38"

I've tried that and seem to keep getting OR results. Is a space between the primary and secondary terms necessary? I'll try it.

Same here. Any attempt at syntax for an "AND" search has always produced "OR" results.

What is your search? If you are searching for a part and model number from a specific manufacturer:

"thingy" +""1234" +"manufacturer"

or run a search on the most important thing in the string of items, then search within the results for the next most important parameter.

If you are trying to filter for something, try control-f and enter the string you are looking for and hit "find next" <this is for windows only, I am not familiar with any other OSs>

Serious, I'm looking for stuff in the 951 forum and am trying to refine the search. Such that if I want info on, for example, the Vitesse MAF, I try searching for "Vitesse + MAF" but am getting OR results which means I have 4 times the threads to filter through.

That wasn't my real such but makes the point.

This is only within the Rennlist search function; not Windows.

Try "Vitesse" +"MAF"

Can you search within the results?

"Vitesse" then search through those results?

Ahh.......there is the advanced search which may help you navigate through the results better. You can also narrow things by adding the "-" function. This will remove the things you aren't looking for.

"Vitesse" +"MAF" -"911"

That gets me an OR result also.

I'll just have to do a manual filter....
