Is Rennlist running slow or is it just me??
Today it has seemed very slow from several locations. There is huge lag, but when the page finally loads, it's pretty quick. I should run a tracert.

Eh, now all of the sudden it's a speed demon again. Nevermind. It's flakey routing somewhere. It lags then runs fine off and on.

Of all the major car-forums I visit, this site is consistently the slowest, and by a good margin.

About six years ago, I sat through a SBC sales pitch where they guaranteed me that they could VLAN/VPN my Pasadena, Ca office with an office in Kansas City with a maximum of three hops. I asked them to put it in writing as part of the contract. They never came close to their 'guaranteed' performance, so it took them a long time to get paid. It took three hops just to get out of the building, three to get into the other building, so they were doomed to failure before they ever landed fiber.
My trace dies at about the same point yours does. I route from socal through your neighborhood, and the Level 3 portal in San Jose. From that point it's slow to the east coast, where it drags to a crawl. Like weekend traffic between NY and NH in the summertime...
Try stretching the tolerance in tracert to let it try for a longer time. It may help resolve at least the locations of the east-end bottlenecks.
