I'm running out of gas.......
 

OK - Jen and I have had it..... We are taking hordes of cash - and running... :eek:

We are running down to our systems dealer - and today - we bought a new server for the Rennlist Forums - as this one has run out of gas... - especially during peak times (which is pretty much all the time?) when there may be several thousand folks logged in simultaneously...

For that - over the next few days, I'll try to prepare this server for the change-over/upgrade. The new server should be "on-site" Friday, but I won't have time to bring it up until Sunday or Monday - as my paying jobs get in the way schedule wise.

What this means to YOU - is that you may find the Rennlist Forums off-line, or particulary slow as I copy stuff on/off. Hopefully - I'll have the cut-over finished sometime Sunday night or Monday morning (OK - so that's the "estimated" time-frame - the "real" schedule may vary... :) ).

Maybe I can go out and do a membership drive for you to help defer some of the new server costs. At the very least I can renew my own membership!

If I may, what was wrong with the old one? Old Hardware? Whats the specs on the new server :)

Thanks very much for upgrading the server. It is much better. The only down side was the down time. I actually had to interact with my spouse. Fortunately she was still wearing her name tag from work, to eliminate that potential issue.
