Getting avatars to 19kb
how is this even scientifically possible.
i tried 2 shrink down a jpeg but the quality became really lousy. even when photoshop says 19kb, on file it says 30kb. computers are an enfuriating quagmire.
how do some guys have really nice quality avatars uploaded?

Try using a .gif instead of a .jpg (as the file size will be smaller for the same pixel size) or reduce the quality of the .jpg for the same pixel size.
