Member page photo assistance please
Hi,
I have made several attempts to upload photos to my member page. Each attempt results only in red x's appearing.
Here's my page:
http://members.rennlist.com/thedude/
I have read the short instruction page on how to do this, to no avail.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
D

Thank you, Jen.
However, could you please tell me what I did wrong? Or how to do it properly?
That photo was just a last ditch effort on my behalf to get something to work, anything, hence that thumbnail file. I would like to upload photos of my car.
Thank you again,
D

Hi Derek..!
OK - when WORD creates a "page" - it makes a "sub directory"... Sound confusing??
So - since you are using the "upload" feature in your browser (which can't create "sub directories) - you need to try this..... Let's say you wanted to show the picture named "yourpicture.jpg"
Open your main page (index.htm) in Notepad or a text editor...
You will see images are embedded with HTML commands like this: "index_files/yourpicture.jpg"
Change all of those "index_files/yourpicture.jpg" to "yourpicture"
Upload all the IMAGES and pages (including your main "index.htm" page)..
Let me know how that works, OK??? While it sounds "confusing" at first - it's pretty simple, once you figure out how WORD is messing about on its own..
Best to you!
John

Firstly, thank you for attempting to assist me with this issue.
Well, I have opened the index file via Microsoft Script Editor.
I found the text related to the jpg files.
I deleted the words "index files" and ".jpg" from each line of text.
This did not work.
Whereas I can see the photo on my page before I do this, it has now become a RED X after I do this.
Am I supposed to load all of the images onto the index file and then upload the index file to the rennlist server? OR am I supposed to create an index file and THEN upload the images onto the rennlist server? FWIW, I have tried both ways.
I do appreciate your help. However, I think I'll just describe my car if anyone asks. This is exceptionally complicated. This is my fifth attempt to make a page in the last three months. I follow your instructions and have the same results each time.
Thanks Jen and John for trying to help an idiot.
Best Regards,
Derek
