Auto scroll is not a good feature
Rennlist is the only forum I visit which uses auto-scroll. It makes the forum almost unusable on mobile, in my experience, because every time I re-visit a subscribed thread it auto-loads prior posts and jumps back in time, then every time I get close to the last post on the page it auto-loads newer posts and jumps forward in time.
Is there any way to disable this feature on mobile? I disabled it on desktop but it still happens on mobile and I don’t see a setting option.
Even better, can we just disable this user experience nightmare altogether for the entire forum? I don’t see the point other than perhaps automatically adding to the page load count and ad impressions.

we don't use any kind of autoscroll, so I have no idea what you're referring to, but I would suggest attempting to delete your Rennlist cookies and logging back in to resolve.

I'm referring to the infinite scroll feature, which can't be disabled on mobile and is really disruptive to the mobile UX.
Please, please give us the choice to disable this behavior on mobile!

that is not causing your screen to auto scroll, it has nothing to do with how you enter into a thread you’ve previously visited. please delete your rennlist cookies and log in again.
infinite scroll removes pagination, and is not something i can adjust.

Let's forget the phrase "auto-scroll," it was not the right phrase to use. My complaint is with infinite scroll.
The problem with infinite scroll is that if the new content doesn't load immediately (common on slow bandwidth or photo heavy threads) then your browser will "jump" up or down to the new content. This can be pretty disruptive when viewing very long threads.
Here's an example in the 991.2 Carrera T - Picture Thread thread: you can see that it jumps from post 2989 to 2974 to 2957 and then in the middle of viewing post 2946 it jumps up to 2929. These picture heavy threads can cause infinite scroll to make the interface go crazy and you easily get lost trying to keep your spot.

P.s. this is on wifi to my 1 Gbps Fios home Internet, so it's not a bandwidth issue on my end.
P.p.s. I did clear my Rennlist cookies and website data, as you suggested, before taking this screen recording.

I can see how image heavy threads can cause this, as the images are slower to load than the content, and so it goes back up once the images load and the cookies can ascertain your last read post. I will share your feedback with our tech team to see if there is something that they are able to achieve. The decision about enabling the option to disable infinite scroll on mobile was made over my head and it's not changing unfortunately.

The issue is well documented… see my post above and screen capture.
