Default Bad Spam

Ok. I have been getting Spam attached to this message ONLY ON RENNLIST. I am running UBlock I have been clearing website, signing out turning off iPad, everything to try to fix it. I can’t go more than a couple of minutes before getting spammed. I typed this message off site and copied it to put on before getting locked out again. It you have a solution please email me through the email on profile as I can’t respond before I get spammed again.

Check your router. Turn off WiFi on the iPad and see if it does it over cellular.

Its not his router, I have occasionally had the same message while using my iPad on the cellular network only. Its definitely annoying, but when I see that message start to load,I am usually able to just hit the "back" key and it closes out and resumes the previously loaded page. If you aren't quick enough though, it will lock the page and the only thing you can do is close the page and reopen it on your browser.

I haven't seen it show up as often on Rennlist as I have on Foxnews.com.

I have Crystal ad blocker loaded on my iPad, but I can't say that it has eliminated the problem. Also, clearing history and cookies doesn't help either. I'll be curious if anyone else has a suggestion.

I had the same problem on my android using Chrome. I tried a couple other browsers and finally settled on Firefox. I haven't had an issue since.

IB has already been alerted of the issue but clearly is taking too much time getting it fixed. One of the advertisers has loaded some malware, annoying and ridiculous considering we pay membership fees

Had same issue, finally found how to get rid of it..
  • On your iPhone, iPad, you can press the home button twice in a quick succession. You’ll then see a preview of all apps that have been recently used. Swipe left to find Safari and then swipe up on the app’s preview to close it forcibly In order to prevent Safari from opening unwanted windows on startup. Go to Settings->Safari and Clear History, as well as Website Data. This will also clear your browser history and cookies so keep that in mind and export them if you want to keep them. Then shut down the IPAD and restart.
This cleared it from my IPAD and has not returned..

I get it on my iPad frequently. If IB doesn’t fix it before they want more money from me, I won’t renew and revert to USER.
Should not be and is not my problem on a paid site.

Not an IB exclusive problem. I first started getting the message on Drudge.

I don’t want to be a winner!

I too have been experiencing the "award" pop up, as well as other malware that seems to be isolated to this site. IB simply sucks. I will not be renewing my Rennlist membership when it expires. I run ABP with Firefox... When I open the 993 forum on Rennlist, the APB status shows that it is blocking 20+ advertisements on this site alone. For a paying member, this is totally unacceptable.

Folks, IB tech is aware and working to kill the spam ad. It is across a lot of sites, not just Rennlist. Note that ad blocker software like ublock and adblocker (free downloads) block the nasty pop-up.

Best,

I'm just hanging out on the garage talk app until it's fixed
