Default FYI. Oil change

I used to take my Acura MDX for oil changes to Honda at Yonge and steeles in toronto. For the longest time I've been doing my own oil changes. The other day I decided to take my MDX back in for an oil change with my own motul oil and filter.
Honda charged me 17$ for labour to do the oil change.
What are the chances they'll charge the same
if I bring in my 996?!
Should I try? What are your thoughts? For 17$ I don't need to setup and clean up!

I would be afraid that they will overfill the car, strip some bolts, or something worst.

I can't see why they'd overfill it, but if that's the biggest concern, give them 1 less litre than you know you need, and add it yourself after they're done.

Wow. $17. You can have dinner for two at McDicks for that. I'd risk it for sure.

I pay 20$ for the labour to my Indy for an oil change re 911. I bring the oil and filter and watch the process as well as it really doesn't take too long

Yup. Save the money and get the oil changed there. Then start a new thread about the heart aches and hardship that it caused.

I have been going to the Sisley Honda dealership that OP is referring to for 15+ years with my Hondas and recently an Acura. I can honestly say that their service department is second to none. I've never had a bad experience there. Now, I don't take my Porsche there, since I don't think the mechanics there are experienced enough with these cars. I am sure they'll do their best but the potential for errors is too high.
I learned to do the oil change myself and kind of enjoy doing it!

it's kinda hard to mess up a m96 oil change.... but they won't know to look for other 'specific' things while on hoist...

agreed completely. cost doesnt always equate to value.... i do get the concept of you get what u pay for but i find it strange that people are sometimes too quick to knock a good deal, esp when the person getting the good deal has established a relationship with the dealer/technician for a decade+.
