Default One WET day @ Mosport w/ Apex

Really surprised at the turnout for such a miserable day, but kudos to all those brave souls! Personally I had a blast...did LOTS of laps as the Mini is really in its element in this stuff and it was fun trying different spots to place the car to find grip. Much easier on the tires too

Thanks to Gerry, Brad, Ross at pit out and everybody else involved for putting on a nice event--hope the coming days' weather is better for those hitting the track

Ya the rain isn't much fun, especially if you've only paid for a 1 day event. I was at PCA DE weekend and Saturday was great. sunny with wind to keep us cool. Sunday was rain & fog, far from ideal but i still had fun working on my lines, the wet forced me to slow down and focus on the being smooth and in the right place.

It was great watching the R8's try to keep up with you Gary.

That was my first time out to Mosport and I was in the novice group and I still had a blast, miserable weather and all.

As a first-timer, really glad you enjoyed yourself as I did and thanks for the kind words--that was a perfect day for you to learn as you're going slow enough to actually see the track and feel the car. A day like that is one case where having no hp can potentially work to your advantage

I was there in my Targa. I did have a sphincter-tightening moment when my rear end came loose after turn 2 as I hit the gas too hard to keep up with my buddy's Turbo S, I (more likely the car) recovered but took it slow after. The really interesting thing for me was learning a completely different line in the rain that what I am used to in the dry.

I've had 3 rain days this year. I love them now.

There actually is quite a bit of grip to be had on that track in conditions like that, but, yeah, the great majority of it is not where you'd normally drive in the dry. Also need to adjust your vision (at least I do) to focus a bit more on looking at the track to go where it's the least shiny v-a-v looking as far ahead as you can.

Quite a Contradictory statement I would say 😉
