If it is over 25 you should just need to put it on a ship and it is the same as buying a European car in the US. You pay HST and needs safety.

usually cars are going to Europe not back this way

I just did it. If driving, you go to Quebec dot and get a temp plate. If shipping, ship it and get a temp tag here. Nothing else to it...
