Borescope on 2/3 off at CT.
On sale from $299 to $100. Picked one up on Saturday. I think it's almost as useful as an OBDII scanner for those that turn their own wrenches in the engine bay.

I bought one of these when they were on sale last time and took it back. There isn't any way to upload pics.

I didn't like the idea of getting one that needs a smartphone to work. Wanted a self contained system and since this was at a good price, decided to get it. I have no need to record (my eyes are my recorder) but it did come with a video RCA cable. With that, I'm sure there is a way to capture the images if one feels the need.

That unit from Canadian Tire has been around for quite a while. I've had one for a few years. I haven't used it often, but it has been quite handy when I did. The resolution isn't bad and good enough for miscellaneous home use, finding bolts that were dropped while working on the car etc. Lighting is usually the bigger challenge for some of my uses (like trying to find what is behind a wall).
I feel I've gotten my money's worth both for home use and minor car/boat work. I don't know if the resolution is high enough for inspecting cylinder walls but probably. |
