4th Annual Hershey Drive 2017 Edition!
Happy New Year everyone!
Patryk and I have already begun initial planning for this years 2017 Hershey Porsche Parts Swap Drive. http://cpa-pca.org/swap/2017/index.html This years date is set for April 22, 2017 which is later in the year than in past years. This is great news as it will be even warmer (the last 3 years I have worn shorts and a T-Shirt midday in Hershey) and even less chance of any inclement weather for our drive. Knock on wood but every year we have completed the drive we have had nothing but superb weather! We figured as its January 1, 2017 its best to get this drive on everyone's radar and post it up months in advance as we've all committed to driving our cars more as part of our New Years resolution right? We might switch hotel venues to mix it up this year and possibly add a second day's drive. Let us know what you think and sign up below. Each year we have found better and better roads to drive and I can say last years fun was truly epic! Pics of past Hershey Drive's below for reference. 2016 Edition: https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...ve-thread.html 2015 Edition: https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...et-2015-a.html We welcome all Porsche owners! Yes, 928's too...I'm only kidding as we'd like to see more variety than the standard 911...bring what you have! Who's in? 1. Cameron - 991 Carrera 2. Patryk - 997.2 Carrera S 3. Rick V - 997.1 4.0L MONSTER 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. |
I was going to say I am in but see I am already in!!
Looking forward to it and Cam/Patrick, thanks for assuming the organizers mantle once again  Cheers Rick |
Absolutely in. PA highways are a great way to shake out the winter cobwebs! :burnout:
Glad to see you have a proper car for this year's trip, Cam! |

I am offended for not being on that list by default. Hell yeah, I am in.
|
I'm assuming my wife will not want to spend her 50th birthday in Hershey with a bunch of car nuts, so have fun boys. :)

Hey Vern can I ride shotgun if I get to TO? Plus I get to see what the new motor is all about!
|
I might be in, as I've got a boatload of parts I need to sell or trade. What's the border procedure for bringing items to sell? Tax issues? Import/export issues?

I'm sure a few of us could throw a part or two in our trunks? Depends on how much you're bringing down! |
That depends on how much of it I can unload between now and April :) It's mostly large stuff - interior parts.

I would be curious to know what the correct process is as well. Probably best just to call the border. I too have a bunch of parts, and now that my wife wants a trip to Switzerland for her 50th (but in June) I might be be able to escape that weekend. Update: I called the border and they told me that I would need to search through the HTSU to find the import codes for each item, create a manifest. Then upon importing they will do their own search on the values. Sounds like it could go two ways, one they go easy and trust your values, or two you get the rubber glove treatment. https://hts.usitc.gov/ From what can see by searching this site is, some things like wheels are free, other parts can be 2.5% or 6.5%. |
