That 73 Challenger just went for $49k on BJ. Just happened to be casually watching when it came on the block

I saw it as well. It stalled at $30,000 then the auctioneer talked the car up.
I never saw the 356 there. I only saw a red one and a blue one.

That's about what I would pay for it 3-4k and ask 7300$. 5600$ is a bit low IMO, I would say in that shape with mileage around 6-6200$ would be a fair offer if someone walked in my door with the cash.. There is a bit of a niche market selling clean used S Class Mercedes Benz but not for 23k.

It's still a fantastic car though. My youth mechanic bought an 03 S430 to complement his 211 E500. I had a W211 E550 4 Matic a few years back. Yea the build quality isn't as good as the older Benzs but they're still good cars. I bought a non op W124 E420, got it running and sold for a decent profit... Oddly enough the W201, a car that was everywhere during my youth is becoming sought after.

As I type this there is a W211 E320 Wagon on one lift with 347500kms

Any chance you can put some years next to those factory designation codes? It makes it easier to understand for those that are totally into the brand.

Hi Greg, any idea on how much my W220 2001 Mercedes S55 AMG is worth these days? 157,000km with full services records, 2nd owner, no rust and the only paint work was the front bumper that sustained damage being parked over a higher than normal curb. Everything works as it should. Thanks.

No problem

W211 E Class is 2003-2009

W220 S Class 1999-2006 is what Segal is selling

W221 is 2007-2013

W124 is 1984-1996 E class

W201 also known as the 190 baby benz

I wouldn't pay more than 8000$ for it and even that is high my gut tells me. This weekend I was offered a 2002 S500 , seller says rear air suspension is broken.. I know it's just the rear level sensor that gets rusted then snaps in two.

MBs of these years can rust pretty bad. Rust inside out. Bottom of doors and the rear quarter panels are the notorious areas. All BMW, Benz and Audi's of these vintage rust, lousy rust proofing. My current DD is a 2003 Audi A6 2.7, bottom of the doors are starting to go but it's my winter beater. No one really ever cleans out the door drains which are very small.

Just remember.. there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes Benz. You could get away with a cheap 3er but anything Mercedes won't be kind to the wallet

Doesn't Audi have a 12 corrosion/perforation warranty? VW does so I would expect Audi did too? My DD is an '05 Passat that had all but the two rear doors and the roof replaced and reainted for free by VW. Just got back from getting a new front passanger door for free.

They do and so does BMW. BMW changed bits on my 3er.. but the older the car gets the more "strict" they become. My Audi is too old to have anything done. When I had my 07 E Class Mercedes said I had to perform a 400$ inspection to have the body fixed. I did and they only covered the two front doors

I have a friend that lives in Barrie with a 2008 VW Rabbit. I think VW changed every single panel on that car.
