The only secret we're interested in Ronan is where you keep your green car?

I'm generally in the not paranoid camp but I'll point out that on another forum I'm involved with a person who held different views did go crazy. He dug up as much personal info on people as possible through cross referencing twitter and facebook, published many full names and places of employment. Called their employers with all kinds of claims against the board member. If people got angry at him on line and threatened him, he reported it to the police. If they called him homo names he threatened sexual harassment, etc.

99.999999% of the time it's all fine but that super rare occasion it's not, it can really backfire on you. Nothing online is erasable and you're best to be fully anonymous.

Of course anonymity would be fine but we all intersect with the web personally and prefessionally. Every detail of our interactions is logged. I have zero faith in being anonymous and someone with good technical skills could dig up any amount of material on any of us.

However, they can't dig up what's not there so best answer is to put nothing on the web that would be embarrassing. Ever. Sure they can get to your bank account. If they are smart enough but blurring your plate is a trivial defence. In any case there is good cover from your bank if your account is hacked.

Solid points... You can figure out a lot from just taking the time and cross referencing information on the web. Another good source is just simply asking organizations about a person using a Freedom of Information Act request. You need to know how to ask the questions, and follow the proper legal steps, but it's amazing how quickly you can figure things out about a person...

Cool to see people are level headed about security outside of my physical social circle. The media makes me wonder sometimes...

I never blur my plates and I don't get the feel for it either.
Best ones are the POS sub $1000 cars on Kijiji that have the plates blurred.......WTF is that?

Way to much work for a thief to do the plate running thing.
They could just as easily creep internet sites and clubs to get info.
If they want your car, they'll get it. That's what insurance is for.

Crap, I never thought of looking there. Must give the 991 nice neutral handling with that extra bit of weight up front?

Or use a trunk monkey.
