My C4S Story
After much pining and obsessing, I got myself a 996 this year. Operation Stuttgart was a go.
I actually flew to Ottawa, picked it up and drove it back to TO.
It found a happy home with the other flat engines in the driveway. On the way home, I learned the fuel line vent valve was gone. That was the first project.
I spent a day in third gear at Canadian Tire Motorsport with some great Subaru friends.
Next, I realized the engine mounts were shot. Project #2.
I took the opportunity to expand the tool chest.
This is my daily, and it has to get the job done. It has to put the sport back into sport utility.
Then it got a little tarted up.
The passenger seat kept making this noise like, "The car is very bumpy" and "So bumpy...". So this week it got re-tired with 235/40r18 front and 285/35r18 rear Pilot Super Sports. (Flame me about the sizes all you want)
OMG. What tires. It had Falkens on before, but with the PSS, I can turn the stereo down a couple levels they are so quiet. It rides like a dream, but still turns and burns. The passenger seat is also so much quieter.
Project #3 was the oil pressure sensor (that was acting up):
So, 1 summer of ownership. Almost 5,000 km of driving. Why doesn't everyone own a 996?

How do you know its motor mounts when the exhausts tips are adjustable.
You don't look like you have an issue running 285/35 with stock height. Wonder if it would work on a lowered car. I would think about running those tires and sizes as well on mine but not if it rubs.

Ideally I would run 315/30r18, but that size is really only available in PS2...which is expensive and not as nice as the PSS.

Not that I can return the PSS, but what do you think of the Pzero Rossos? I had heard they weren't the best riding tire, but performed really well. Then again I note they are both 95Y for the 235/40r18s.
The PSS were so much better than the Falkens I had on before.
