Possible scam 997 listing in Vancouver
Just putting it out there in case anyone else is looking at this same car. I'm not sure what his game is, but something is fishy:
http://wwwa.autotrader.ca/a/Porsche/...O&orup=6_15_13
It was originally listed at 49,500 (good, but not insane price for a well optioned 2006 C2S with 80,000km). I asked him to send some interior pictures and more info and he said he would the next day. I followed up a couple times over the next few days, and he eventually said he had two other guys "fighting over the car", so it would probably be gone soon.
OK, fine. But it stayed up on autotrader and kijiji, and then a few days ago I noticed the price had dropped to 48,000 on both sites. Well, that's strange; why would you drop the price when you have multiple interested buyers? So I texted the guy again today and had this conversation:
Me: Hi again, looks like you dropped the price on autotrader? Does that mean it's still for sale? I'm going to be in Vancouver [deleted] so would like to come take a look
Him: I suggest you look at another car because this one has already got two people on it. Thanks.
Me: Oh, ok. How come you dropped the price when you have multiple people interested?
Him: Don't worry about it [sunglasses emoticon]

It's possible this is on the level, but it seems suspicious at best. If you're looking at this car, take suitable precautions.

I once asked a good friend who is a Dr in Cali why he included that statement when he listed his M6 for sale privately. His response "so people think I spared no expense getting it serviced at the dealer".
